You could say Onkaparinga Hills business owner Diana Maddeford is a great advocate for our State. After all, she named her gift box business SA Boutique Boxes. She’s made sure her boxes and online shop are filled with only SA made products. Her business tagline is ‘Bringing SA to you’, and she loves catching up with all her SA suppliers.

“We have such wonderful food and products that get made within this great state and it's been wonderful being an online shopfront for some talented creatives,” says Diana.

Not only is this City of Onkaparinga resident a great advocate for the state, but closer to home, she champions her business suburb too.

Onkaparinga Hills is a gorgeous leafy suburb full of friendly neighbours, easy-to-access facilities and literally a walk away from the Onkaparinga National Park. I love the fact I can head on up the street and I'm surrounded by kookaburras, parrots, and lots of gum trees,” she says.

Naturally, when it came to setting up SA Boutique Boxes in 2019, Onkaparinga Hills was an obvious choice.

“It's really a go-between when it comes to servicing the Fleurieu Peninsula and the city of Adelaide and everyone is so open to SA made when it comes to the McLaren Vale wine region and the Fleurieu Peninsula. Of course, my repeat customers and loyal suppliers have kept the business growing to what it is today!”

While Diana gives kudos to her customers (ranging from new mums, corporate businesses, grandmothers, fathers, interstate and overseas friends), SA Boutique Boxes success can be chalked up to its many point of differences. They have eco-friendly packaging (no magnetised boxes), hand deliver where they can, write in all the cards themselves as a personal touch and have been known to source special requests for customers.

“We love to go over and above. And we try to think of everybody - our gift boxes really cover any gift you may want to send as we do a lot of custom gifts also. We are super excited about our upcoming Father's Day Gift Boxes too.”

And when Diana is not busy advocating for her local community and steering the SA Boutique Boxes ship? She’s snapping photos as a wedding and events photographer, working in her other business (a photobooth company) as well as dabbling in admin for her metal fabrication family business.
